ASA Bans Sky’s Misleading 99.9% availability claim.

1910__300x300_banned_from_the_internet_crossSky has been told by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) that it must remove an advert on its website containing claims over its broadband reliability following a complaint from Virgin Media.

Concerns were raised that Sky’s ad misleadingly implied that the reliability of a consumer’s complete broadband service was 99.9 per cent. This ruling follows hot on the heals of a major fibre break in Sky’s network causing loss of service in areas of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight for several days.   Read the full report here.
