Android loses share of UK smartphone market in Q1, 2014

In Q1, 2013, Android-powered devices accounted for 58.4 percent of UK smartphone sales. Now, in Q1 2014, Android accounts for only 56.2 percent of UK smartphone sales, with iOS devices accounting for 32.1 percent, up from 28.7 percent; showing a clear gain, according to the latest smartphone sales data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.

The Windows Phone market share also showed an increase from 7 percent in Q1 2013 up to 9.1 percent in Q1 2014. The space was made by BlackBerry’s market share, which was reduced to 2.3 percent, from 5.1 percent a year earlier.
