Ben Announces Third Imperial March

Stormtrooper Ben Allen has this week updated eager followers from a field in Bowcombe with their 2019 Imperial March plans. Ben took to Facebook with his support team, Matt and Simon to announce that they will be scaling the Three Peak Challenge in September of this year, again in aid of Isle of Wight Charity – Layla’s Trust and of course, in his full Stormtrooper armour.

Ben went on to explain that they are getting their planning organised now ahead of the summer, when they will be focusing on training in preparation for this gruelling undertaking.

The Three Peak Challenge website states:

‘The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) – twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance.’

Last year, Ben and his team walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower in Paris over several very difficult days through some very challenging weather conditions. WightFibre CEO John Irvine met Ben and co and the other end, where he congratulated them on their efforts.

You can keep up to date with what Ben and his team are up on their Facebook or by following Wightfibre for regular news.
