Isle of Wight Radio Child of Wight Awards 2016 – Nominations Open!


WightFibre are excited to announce that they are sponsoring the first Isle of Wight Radio Child of Wight Awards this year! Do you know a young person who deserves some recognition for their hard work or bravery? Does your son or daughter have a fabulous brother or sister, who has helped their sibling through a difficult time?

WightFibre and Isle of Wight Radio are giving you the opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to that special child or young person by nominating them for a Isle of Wight Radio Child of Wight Award! The brand new awards ceremony is an opportunity to acknowledge young people on the Island.

The Asa Singleton Most Courageous Isle of Wight Radio Child of Wight Award – Sponsored by Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries  

We’re looking to recognise a child who’s shown tremendous spirit and bravery in the face of adversity and shown strength and determination through difficult times.


Sporting Star Award – Sponsored by Bartletts Service Station Garage

Do you know a child who has shown passion, dedication and an unswerving commitment to improve or achieve success in their chosen sport?


Young Achiever Award – Sponsored by S B Electrical

Do you know a child that has achieved beyond expectation, then this might be the ideal way to give them the credit they deserve?


Fundraiser Award – Sponsored by Wave Training in First Aid

Do you know a child that has shown a real commitment for charity work or good causes, and fundraising initiatives?


Make a Difference Award – Sponsored by The Needles Landmark Attraction

Do you know a young person who has made a difference, perhaps by helping a neighbour by doing their shopping or by running errands for them?

A young carer is someone aged 18 or under who helps look after a relative who has a disability or illness.
