So August has rolled round again and another Cowes Week is upon us. With the world famous premier sailing regatta that took place, 8,000 people took part in what was a brilliant display of yachting from high-tech racing boats to classic day boats. It isn’t just the boats that draws people in to Cowes Week though, with an array of events and attractions that took place such as The Blades Aerobatic Display Team on the 2nd of August, Cowes Week got off to a flying start.

Although Cowes week is now coming to a close, the best is yet to come. The Friday finale tonight will include an incredible performance from the RAF Typhoon Display, be sure not to miss it – especially as the Typhoon’s speed can reach up to an earth-shattering 690mph! To see these guys in action, pop down to Cowes Week and tilt your heads to the skies at 19:10. After the spectacular Typhoons comes The Red Arrows at 19:30 until 19:50, watch for their tails as they colour the skies blue and red.

Still thirsty for more action after these events… the rest of tonight is set to go off with a bang, with an impressive display of fireworks which will take place tonight, Friday the 8th of August, beginning at 21:30 and ending at 21:50. Although these will light up the sky, the best places to watch the firework display are at Castle Hill, Cowes Parade, Princes’ Green (as far as Egypt Point) and East Cowes Promenade. So make your way down to the great finale of Cowes Week – you’d be a fool to miss it!
