Overall Local Hero 2016 John Cattle with Wightfibre CEO, John Irvine

Nominations for Isle of Wight Radio’s Local Hero awards 2017 have now closed and there have been some amazing entries submitted. There have been stories of bravery, support, outstanding performances and more.

It is now down to Isle of Wight Radio’s panel of judges to decide who will be declared Local Hero of each category and then of course to decide the Overall Local Hero, awarded by main sponsor, Wightfibre.

“The nominees range from people who have shown determination to a cause or been an inspirational leader, they might have even made a difference to someone’s life.” – IW Radio

Categories include ‘Emergency Services Person of the Year’, ‘Carer of the Year’, and ‘Tourism Ambassador’, there’s an award to suit every Local Hero and we look forward to celebrating these special achievements with everyone on the 19th of October.
