Now you can un-send messages in Facebook Messenger!

Many of us have suffered that heart-stopping moment when you accidentally send a message to the wrong person, so Facebook Messenger is now giving you 10 minutes to “un-send” it, potentially avoiding a tricky situation.

To do this in Android and iOS, simply tap the message, choose Remove and select ‘Remove for everyone’. If you’re using the website, click the three-dots menu, select Remove and choose ‘Remove for everyone’. The unsent message will be replaced by a note indicating that you’ve removed it, although this of course may still arouse suspicion. It certainly can’t be used to get away with abuse, since Facebook will retain unsent messages for a while in case there’s a complaint. There’s also a chance a recipient may still see the message if their notifications are active
