Study shows that two thirds of downloaded apps are not used regularly

The lastest results from Ofcoms Adults’ Media Use and Attitudes Report shows that while almost half of UK smartphone users (48%) have download an app; two thirds of downloaded apps were not used regularly. On average, smartphone owners have on 23 apps installed, but only use 10 on a regular basis. Just over three quarters (78%) of recent app downloaders used friends and family’s recommendations to select apps. Comparing this with social media advertising (17%), in-app advertising (16%) and media advertising (11%).
