View River Levels on the Isle of Wight

Wigaugemapth the great summer, flooding is probably not on our minds at the moment – except for those unfortunates still recovering from the last floods. There’s a great new website – www.gaugemap.co.uk – that gives real time information on river levels. It covers a number of rivers and coastal areas on the island as measured by a network of river gauges from the Environment Agency. Zoom in on the Isle of Wight and click a marker to see a chart showing the river’s level or sea level over the past five days indicating whether flooding is “possible”. You can even get updates on individual rivers or areas by following them on Twitter.
