Last weekend, the Wightfibre-sponsored Vectis Blue Under 9s took part in the Paul Westby tournament hosted by Gurnard football club for the first time.
The boys progressed through the first stages in great form and won all six games, giving them a 7 point lead from the rest of the group going into the final.
With just 9 minutes of match time remaining, the boys battled hard but a last minute goal from opposition resulted in the Vectis boys being left a goal down. The boys attitude, work ethics and sportsmanship throughout the tournament was outstanding and what a fantastic result to end the tournament as runners-up. The team have said a big thank you to Gurnard for hosting a very well run tournament.
