WightFibre – FULL-FIBRE rollout on the Isle of Wight

Thanks to a £35M investment, WightFibre are looking forward to building a full-fibre network which is capable of delivering truly unlimited broadband speeds to Isle of Wight homes and businesses. Providing fibre optic all the way into the home also means the network is much less susceptible to slowing down at its busiest times.

Currently serving Newport, Cowes, Wootton and parts of Ryde the WightFibre network will be extended to cover Ryde, Seaview, Bembridge, Nettlestone, Sandown, Lake, Shanklin, Ventnor, Freshwater and Yarmouth. The project is set to be completed by the start of 2021 and will cover over 50,000 homes and businesses on the island.

Full-fibre broadband from WightFibre uses the latest technology made from optical fibre rather than copper. This fibre optic cabling runs all the way from the WightFibre exchange into your home, rather than stopping at the street cabinet.

By providing a full-fibre service, Wightfibre are helping customers to future-proof their homes. As devices like Smart TVs, tablets and mobiles improve, they’ll depend more and more on a strong, fast and stable connection and full-fibre will prevent screens from freezing, jumping or stopping like they might have done previously.

During 2018 we will provide detailed plans of our rollout. In the meantime, to register your interest in receiving our new, full-fibre, ultrafast broadband, by completing this form.
