25 Years of Walk the Wight!

Walk The Wight 25 Years25 Years ago, Frank Stevens and Bill Bradley set out to Walk the Wight and raise money towards an MRI scanner that was needed at St Marys hospital, today the event has grown to phenomenal size, and is now the largest charity walk in Europe!

Thousands of people participate in Walk the Wight every year to raise money for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, including families, business teams, individuals, professional athletes, children and even dogs!

WightFibre are proud to support the Hospice and would like to encourage everyone that can, to take part and those that can’t, to support it in various ways, whether this is by sponsoring a walker or team or cheering the walkers on along their routes. Don’t forget, walkers are encouraged to don fancy dress for the occasion so there will be some fantastic sights along the way!

The event is tomorrow (Sunday the 10th of May 2015), who will walk the quickest time and be declared FastestIW?! If you are attending the walk, we would love to receive your photos! Please send them to our Facebook page or tag us on Twitter using @WightFibre and we’ll share them with everyone!
