Best New Movie: Aquaman (2018)

Blessed with the power of the trident, this movie is based on Aquaman who’s purpose in life is to put the kingdom of Atlantis back together again. This Warner Brothers and DC production boasts incredible graphics and somewhat of a ‘grown-up little mermaid’ attraction.

Throughout the movie, we follow Aquaman as he strives to train to be the best he can and honour the wishes of his parents. This action-packed underwater adventure stars Jason Mamoa in title role and with a certificate rating of 12a, is a great weekend film for family with older children to enjoy.

Best TV Show: Jiva! (series 1)

This new series from Netflix is reminiscent of releases from recent years, such as the film ‘Step-Up’ and if you loved that then you’re sure to love this.

This fiction series follows a budding street dancer, who is determined to make the big-time whilst struggling with the demands of family life and a job she hates. She finds out about a dance competition with a large cash prize, so sets her mind to training to be the best.

Best Reality Show: Crazy Delicious (Season 1)

Starring Heston Blumenthal, this new series really push the boundaries of eating with your eyes! This series is a cooking competition which is based around home cooks delivering crazy creations, such as edible scenes and pot plants.

This is a great series to binge over the weekend with your partner, from dry-ice volcanos to macaroni shrimp sparklers, this series is bound to inspire some budding experimental chefs in the making!
