Cheque Presentation For Ben’s Successful Imperial March

In July, Wightfibre followed Ben Allen as he embarked on his Imperial March in aid of the Joe Ellis Trust. Ben left Costa Coffee in Newport with his support team Simon Cherry and Matthew Mew on the 9th of July and walked in full Stormtrooper armour the Star War Celebration at the Excel London.

Throughout his journey, Ben encountered blistered feet, celebrities such as Joe Pasquale and masses of supporters who followed his progress on social media, encouraging him not to give up.

Ben arrived at the Star War Celebration to a hero’s welcome with supporters, friends and family waiting to greet him. Two Stormtroopers were also there saluting Ben as he and his team took their final steps up the venue’s staircase. As well as sponsorship from businesses such as Wightfibre, friends and colleagues, Ben also auctioned his Stormtrooper armour on eBay which helped to boost his grand total to over double his original target.

Last week, Wightfibre CEO John Irvine and Marketing Manager Jayden Wood were delighted to present Ben, Matthew and Simon with their cheque for over £6,000, marking the completion of an incredibly successful fundraising mission for The Joe Ellis Trust.
