Emma and Hollie (pictured below) have been working their magic again! You may remember that at the beginning of the summer they transformed one of the WighFibre street cabinets in Ryde, (George Street). This ongoing project hopes to infuse local areas with colour and creativity, whilst deterring anti-social behaviours such as graffiti.
The latest addition can be found in Newport bus station and features some very notable Isle of Wight destinations, including:
- The Quay Arts Centre
- Carisbrooke Castle
- Newton Creek
- Parkhurst Forest
- Newport Guildhall
- The Isle of Wight Festival
- Robin Hill
WightFibre, a company known for its dedication to providing reliable internet services, had always planned to utilise the white cabinets creatively. The artwork project commissioned by WightFibre with local councils and Community Murals is a shining example of what can be achieved to address the issue of graffiti on the Island. After completion of the Ryde cabinet, CEO of WightFibre, John Irvine previously said:
“WightFibre is always happy to get involved in community projects like this because we care.”
